If you’ve created an event or either a Facebook ad, you might have recognized that the timezone is wrong after finishing them, so you may be wondering how to change the timezone on Facebook.

Usually, the timezone on Facebook changes if you’re using your account on the PC web browser.

You might also get the wrong timezone on your Facebook mobile app.

Either way, there is a fix for the issue.

To change the timezone on Facebook, check your PC date and region, and change it if needed; On your mobile app, the timezone is synced with your phone’s date & time.

If you believe that your device’s time and date are correct, there might be an issue with the app itself.

So today, I will teach you how to change the timezone on Facebook.

How To Change Timezone on Facebook

To change the timezone on Facebook, you need to open the settings on your mobile phone and go to the general menu to change the “Date & Time”.

Now, if you’re working on your PC, you need to click on the “Windows Search Box” and search for “Date & Time Settings”.

Then you need to change the timezone of your pc.

Keep in mind that there is no timezone option on Facebook that allows you to adjust in order to sync your actual time.

The Facebook timezone is a reflection of your device’s clock.

Method #1: Change the timezone on Facebook App

Set the date and time on mobile phone to automatic

To change the timezone on your Facebook app, you need to check your phone’s timezone.

Note that all of your mobile app timing are synced directly from your phone’s time.

In order to change the timezone of your Facebook app, you need to get access to your phone’s clock.

To do so, simply open your phone’s settings, then swipe down to see the search box.

On the search box write down “Date & Time” to search for it, then tap on it to open it.

Now if you see that your phone’s time is automatically synced to your phone, you need to log out from your Facebook app, restart your phone, then login back.

However, if the time zone isn’t set to auto, you need to manually change it.

Method #2: Change the timezone of your PC

Change the timezone on Facebook by changing the PC date and time

Most of the timezone issues on Facebook occur on PC browsers, that’s because your PC could often have a timing issue.

This is why you need to give it a check and try to change it to recover the original timezone on Facebook.

Usually, the timezone might be wrong in two cases, either on your Business Ad Manager (Ads that you’re running might have a different timezone) or when you post a Facebook event.

To change the timezone on Facebook in your PC:

  1. Tap on the “Windows Search Box”, then type “Change the Date and Time”.;
  2. Click on the Date & Time option to navigate to the new editing window.;
  3. Choose the “Change” button to add your specific date manually in the new window.;
  4. Turn On the “Set time automatically” and “Set time zone automatically” options, which will sync your PC timezone to Facebook.
  5. Open the browser, and visit Facebook.com, then click on the “Padlock” icon.
  6. Click on the “Cookies” option and start removing all of them in the new popup window.
  7. Log out then log in on your Facebook account to change your account’s timezone.

By following this method, you’ll only be able to change the timezone of your Facebook posts and not the ads.

The timezone for Facebook ads is only changed in the Business Ads Manager.

Method #3: Change the timezone of your Facebook event

Change the timezone on Facebook event

One of the important methods is to check your Facebook event timezone and change it if necessary.

This usually happens after you create a new event and find out that the timezone isn’t the same as your country’s, so you can change the time of the event to match your country’s time.

To change the timezone on the Facebook event, you need to open the app and tap on the “Three Horizontal Lines” icon.

Then when the new page opens, scroll down and tap on the “Events” option.

On the events page, you’ll see the event that you’ve created at the top.

Tap on the event to navigate to the editing page.

On the editing page scroll down to the bottom and tap on the “Manage” option.

A new popup will show up, so tap on the “Edit” option.

On the new page, tap on the “Event Title” to edit its time, then you’ll be able to change the start and end date.

Method #4: Change the Timezone on your Facebook ads account

Change the timezone on Facebook ads manager account

To change the timezone on your Facebook ads account, you need to get access to the Business Manager Settings page.

But you need to carefully know that changing the timezone of your Ad Account will deactivate all the running ads and create automatically a new ad account with the new timezone.

Once your ad account is deactivated, you won’t be able to reactivate it again.

So you need to start running ads only on the new account.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the Ads Manager Payemnt Settings.
  2. Click on the “Edit” button in the “Business Info” menu at the bottom of the page.
  3. On the new popup, click on the “Time Zone” option to change the timezone of your Facebook ad account.
  4. A new add account will be created and replaced the old one, so you can start running your ads on the new one.

Why Is My Facebook Event Showing the Wrong Time?

The main reason why you’re seeing the wrong time on the Facebook event is that your phone is not syncing correctly the actual timezone with the app.

Another reason is that you might have eventually changed your timezone and region.

So the app might keep the old timezone.

However, most of the time users are getting the wrong event time.

Here are multiple reasons why Facebook is showing the wrong time:

  1. Your phone is not syncing the date and time with the app directly.
  2. There is a software issue on your phone that’s causing you to see the wrong timezone.
  3. For PC users, you might have the wrong Date & Time on your PC.
  4. You might have actually changed your country or region.

Does the Timezone Affect My Facebook Ads?

No, timezone doesn’t affect how your Facebook ads are delivered to the audience; Your Facebook ads are always affected by the budget you add and the ad placement itself.

If you set an end date and time for your ad set, it will end at the time of your Business Manager.

Also, the AI technology of the Ad Manager will show your ad placement at the optimal times for your audience.

Yet, it’s important to know that Facebook ads are set to Pacific timezone by default, regardless of your devices’ timezone.

This means the timezone is set by default to (GMT -07:00) Pacific Time.

Conclusion

Timezone is a crucial feature when it comes to creating content and engaging your audience.

In social media, every second has an impact on your content reputation.

So if you publish a post or an event on Facebook at the wrong timezone, you might end up losing your audience.

To change the timezone on Facebook, either on your mobile phone or your PC, you need to check both your device’s Clock (Date & Time) on the Settings.

Yet, on the Facebook Ads Manager, you need to go to the Payment Settings page and change it from there.

So today you’ve learned how to change the timezone on Facebook.
