So choose the Deactivate account option, then you will be navigated to a new page.
On that page, you have to select a reason for which you decided to deactivate and delete your Instagram account.
Before jumping into the steps and starting the process, it’s important to know that if your account is removed because of an Instagram Community Guidelines violation.
You can’t sign in back with the same username.
1.Open your Instagram account settings on your iPhone
First, to deactivate your Instagram account on your iPhone, go to the app directly to open the Settings page.
So on your Instagram app, tap on the three lines at the top right of the screen.
Then tap on “Setting” to open the settings page.
Keep in mind that when you deactivate your Instagram account, you will be able to reactivate it back in a delay of 30 days using your iPhone.
This is done by signing in back into your account to reactivate it.
Now, if your account got deleted after 30 days, your entire Instagram data will be gone permanently forever.
Including your posts, photos, likes, messages, following, and followers.
2.Go to the “Instagram Help Center”
After opening the settings page on your Instagram app.
Look between the options until you find the “Help” icon, then tap on it.
Now, you will be navigated to a new page that contains multiple options, which is the help page.
So tap on the “Help Center” option.
Then the help center page will show up.
However, this method is the ideal method as you are already online on your iPhone to deactivate your Instagram account.
And when you open the help center from your phone, you will be able to use it without signing in.
3.Search for “Deactivate account”
Now that you’ve opened the Help Center page, tap on the search box.
Then search for “Deactivate account” to deactivate your Instagram account.
After searching for it, you will see multiple search suggestions.
So tap on the first one, which is “Deactivate account”.
Then you will be redirected to a new page.
Tap on the second option on the page, which is “How do I delete my Instagram account?”
4.Tap on the “Delete Your Account” link
When you tap on the “Delete my Instagram account”, you will get the full explanation page of the deletion.
You can choose to temporarily disable your account if you just want to take some rest.
However, you might want to download a copy of your Instagram data before deactivating your account.
But if you’ve already decided to deactivate completely your Instagram account, then scroll down.
And when you find the “Delete Your Account” link, tap on it.
So, it’s not necessary to open the delete page using your phone’s browser.
Because you have to sign in to your account.
5.Deactivate your Instagram account
In the last step, you can now start the deactivation process.
So when you tap on “Delete Your Account”, this means you are ready to deactivate your Instagram.
The delete page will open.
Now tap on the drop-down menu to select the reason why you have decided to delete the account.
Then after selecting the reason, a new field will show up which is the password field.
Enter your Instagram password, then tap on the “Delete (Your username)” blue button.
Finally, your Instagram account will be deactivated.
But you will get 30 days delay before deleting your Instagram account data permanently.
