If you are using Snapchat for a while, but you lost your snaps, you are maybe wondering how to recover those deleted Snapchat memories.
So it’s possible to recover deleted Snapchat memories in one way if you are already saving them into your Snapchat or phone camera roll.
Also, Snapchat promised that you can retrieve your memories if you deleted the app, for example.
However, if you manually delete them, this will unfortunately not be possible to recover memories back.
There are multiple ways to find your lost data, but you have to check first your phone’s gallery to see if your memories are there.
This is the first thing to do in order to continue the Snapchat data recovery process.
Today, I will show you how to recover deleted Snapchat memories and backup them.
How to Recover Deleted Snapchat Memories
To recover your deleted Snapchat memories, tap on your avatar profile picture, then tap on “Settings”, and scroll down to find “My Data”.
You will be able to recover your data by requesting it from Snapchat itself.
Otherwise, all other apps that pretend to recover your deleted memories are not true.
1.Go to Snapchat Settings
First, on the Snapchat app, open any menu.
Then tap on the small “Avatar” profile picture at the top left.
A new popup will open, where you can see a lot of options.
Tap on the “Settings” icon at the top right of the screen.
Then your settings page will open.
2.Tap on “My Data”
After opening the settings page, it’s time to request the Snapchat data file.
Scroll down to the “Privacy” menu.
Then you will find the “My Data” button on the privacy menu.
Tap the “My Data” button to open the data page.
A new page will open which is the sign in page.
3.Tap “Submit Request”
When you are on the sign in page, add your email and password to login.
Then tap on “Sign in”, so the Data page will show up.
Now you can see the memories in the recovery data list on Snapchat.
So swipe up until you reach the “Submit Request” button on the bottom of the page, then tap on it.
4.Open your Email
Now that you’ve tapped on the “Submit Request” button.
You will receive a confirmation message of your request.
Go to your email that you’ve added to Snapchat.
Then you will find an email from Snapchat in your Inbox.
5.Download data from your Email
Tap on the “Team Snapchat” email to open it.
Then, when the email opens, click on the “Click Here” link to download your data.
So a new page will open, and you will be asked to sign in again as a security confirmation.
A zip file will be downloaded into your device, so it’s better to use a PC.
Keep in mind that you can only recover saved memories on Snapchat using this method, not the manually deleted ones.
6.Open and download the “Memories” file from your browser
After downloading the zip data file, it’s time to recover the deleted Snapchat memories.
So go to the download directory of your PC.
Then extract the zip folder.
After extracting the file, click on the index file.
Then a new tab on your browser will open, which is all your Snapchat data.
Now scroll down till you find “Memories” in your data and click on it.
A new page will open where you will find all your memories there.
You can download them by tapping on each one, the “Download” button.
7.Check your phone camera roll
Now you can also check your camera roll for your old deleted memories.
If you were doing snaps, Snapchat will automatically save a copy of your memories on your phone’s gallery.
So make sure to take a look at your phone’s gallery.
Are Deleted Snapchat Memories Gone Forever
Snapchat doesn’t completely remove your memories unless you deleted them manually.
It can be also accidentally deleted by you.
But Snapchat promised that they will never remove your memories.
Even if you deleted the Snapchat app from your phone.
It just happens in one case that if you deactivated your account.
So after deactivation, all your Snapchat data including the memories will last for 30 days, then it will be deleted.
How to Save Snapchat Memories to Camera Roll
To save your Snapchat memories to your camera roll, open the memories page on Snapchat.
Then long tap on the Memories you want to save.
You can select them all by tapping on “Select All”.
Then tap “Export” and a popup will open.
Now swipe left until you find the “Download” button, then tap on it.
You can also enable the Autosave from settings>Memories>Auto-Save My Story Snaps>Auto-save to Memories.
Finally, your memories will be exported and saved into your camera roll.

To secure your snaps on Snapchat, you have to save them on Snapchat Memories.
As the memories page is an alternative to your camera roll or phone’s gallery.
So keep in mind to enable autosave on your Snapchat to save all your snaps automatically on the memories.
Autosave helps you a lot In case you lost access to your memories accidentally, you will find them on your gallery.
Otherwise, you will risk getting all your memories deleted without being able to recover them.
