When you delete a simple video or a Reel on Instagram, it usually rests in the Recently Deleted folder for 30 days.
To recover your deleted Reels drafts on Instagram, go to “Your Activity” then tap on “Recently Deleted” to check the desired Reels and get them back; When you log out from your account or uninstall the Instagram app, you’ll lose all the saved drafts on your account.

How To Recover Deleted Reels Drafts on Instagram
To recover the deleted Reels Drafts on Instagram, open your profile page, then tap on the “Three Horizontal Lines” to open the new menu.
Once you see the new popup, tap on “Your activity”.
Then you’ll be redirected to a new page, where you need to find the “Recently Deleted” files.
After that, find the deleted reels that you would like to recover, then recover them.
1.Tap on “Your activity”
First, open your Instagram profile page, then tap on the “Three Horizontal Lines” icon at the top right of your screen.
After doing so, a menu will slide up from the bottom of the screen.
On the menu, there are multiple options.
Tap on the “Your Activity” option to open the new page.
2.Go to “Recently Deleted”
When the new page, loads up, you’ll see a lot of options there.
You need to scroll down until you find the “Recently Deleted” file and tap on it.
Then a new page will open, and you’ll find two menus at the top of the page.
These two menus are “Videos” and “Reels”.
Usually, these videos will get permanently after the displayed time at the bottom left of each video.
The displayed time is calculated in “Days”.
3.Find and Recover the Deleted Reels Drafts
Now that you’ve seen both menus, you can find your desired videos or Reels there.
As we’re focusing on the Reels, tap on the “Reels” menu.
Then you’ll see the Instagram Reels drafts that you want to recover.
To start the recovery process, tap on the Reel to open it.
Then tap on the “Three Dots” to open the new menu.
Once the new menu slides up, tap on the “Restore” option.
After that, the Reels will get back to their recent place.
Can You Recover Deleted Reels?
Yes, you can recover deleted Reels by finding them on the “Your Activity” page.
However, there is a delay for any deleted video or Reels which is 30 days.
You can see the time remaining on the bottom left of the video.
Once the videos reach the delay, they will get permanently deleted from your Instagram account.
Where Do Restored Reels Go?
Restored Instagram Reels get back to either original source, which is either the “Drafts” or the profile page “Grid”.
When you restore a Reel that was already published in your Instagram account, it will get back to your Feed or Grid, depending on the options you’ve selected upon the publishing.
So you may have been chosen to share the Reels on your Instagram feed, or share it only on your “Reels” page.
Now if you restored reels that you had saved in your drafts, they will get back to the “Drafts” file.
How Long Do Drafts Stay On Instagram?
Story Drafts last for 24 hours. Whereas Reels Drafts last forever until you log out or uninstall the Instagram app from your phone.
Keep in mind that if the Reel Drafts were removed from your Instagram, you might be able to get them from the “Recently Deleted”.
However, you may be risking losing them permanently if you’ve uninstalled the app or logged out.
Instagram is still working on its Reels and especially on the Drafts feature.
So as it’s still something that you may not be familiar with, you may get some issues while trying to save the Reels on your drafts.
This is why Instagram has given you the possibility to recover those drafts back, whether they are Reels or Story drafts.
