1.Open your profile page

We will be using an iPhone for this tutorial.

So when you open the Facebook page feed, tap on your profile picture.
Then you will be redirected to your profile page, so on this page tap on the “Three Dots” icon.
2.Tap on “View Privacy Shortcuts”
After tapping the “Three Dots” icon, you will be redirected to a new page, which is the “Profile Page” Settings.
Then tap on “View Privacy Shortcuts”.
When the Privacy Shortcuts page opens, look at the “Privacy” menu, which is the menu where you can control what you share and who can see it.
On this menu, you will see multiple options, including the “Take a Privacy Checkup”.
In consequence, you will be able to see other checkup options as well.
Such as “Account Security”, “Your Facebook Information” and more.
So tap on the “Take a Privacy Checkup” option to stop the Friend Request on your Facebook.

So on that page, tap on “How people can find you on Facebook”, then another page will open.
When the next page opens, you will see what Facebook will show you to edit, such as your “Friend requests, phone number, and email, search engines”.
However, this is a good way to make a fast checkup for your account privacy.
4.Tap “Friends of Friends”
After checking the list of what you can edit, it’s time to stop your Friend request button on Facebook.
So tap on “Continue” and you will see the “Friend Requests” page with a small drop-down menu right below.
Therefore, you can stop the Friend Request button from showing up in your Facebook profile.
However, you will see all the pending friend requests that you haven’t accepted yet.
Now before continuing, if you like, you can confirm the friend requests that are showing on the page.
On the other hand, perhaps you don’t want to accept people to add you as friends you can delete them by tapping on “Delete”.
But they will not know that you’ve refused their friend request until they check the request again and see the status of the request.

So you can choose to keep it like this, or you can allow the “Follow” button.
This means people will only be able to Follow and not add you as a friend.
However, you can have full control over your “Follow” settings.
This means you can control what your followers can see and do with your posts.
So to activate the follow button, go to your Facebook profile, then tap on the “Three Dots”.

Then a new page will open, and you will see the first option, which is “Who Can Follow Me”.
Therefore, select the “Public” option to show the follow button to the public.

6.View your profile as a public visitor
Now you can take a look at your profile page as a public visitor to make sure that what you’ve done is completed.
So on your profile page, tap the “Three Dots” again.
Then on the next page, tap on “View As” and you will be able to view your profile page as a public visitor.
So when you stop the Friend Request button on your account, it will no longer show up on your profile page.
On the other hand, the Message button will display only.
Now, if you allowed the Follow button for the public, you will see both of the “Follow” and “Message” buttons.
When you want to close the View As a page, tap on the “X” button at the top left of the screen.
